Differential treatment

The application of a right in different ways to each member of society, for reasons of equality or fairness, and even inequality.

Discrimination

The act of excluding or isolating individuals, treating them differently from others, and not recognizing their rights. Prejudice is an idea, an attitude, whereas discrimination is an act. Discrimination is based on prejudice and stereotypes. It is a behaviour that disregards a group, ill-treats it, rewards it less than others, boycotts or excludes it.
